We are the last of a dying breed. We are the first of a new generation. We are the ones to watch technology grow into a sentient monstrosity and the last to have a Tamagachi. We are… Millennials.
There’s something to be said about the generation that straddled the dawn of the Internet. Growing up, millennials were totally analog, slaves to the sunrise and sunset like the generations before them, hurrying home from playing with the neighborhood friends when the streetlights came on, but then a funny thing happened. Phones got better, computers got stronger, and it seemed like overnight, Mom ditched the pager and got herself a cellphone. Eventually, the whole family had a phone in their pocket and the world was forever changed.
And as millennial children grew, so did the tech, and we instinctively became gurus on fixing the wifi network for grandma for the rest of our lives. As millennials were troubleshooting the family computer for viruses (likely caused by illicit Limewire downloads, oops), burnt CDs stacked up on their desks and their Sims babbled for assistance in the kitchen. Life was funny back then, and it’s even funnier to look at now! Scroll onward to enjoy a nostalgic collection of millennial memories locked away in the deepest corners of our minds.
