A Fine Vintage of 30 Memes

One downside that can come of memes, especially trend-based ones, is how easily they begin to feel dated. Every chronically online person has experienced the sad phenomenon of participating in something viral and then immediately getting the ick when it reaches a saturation point and/or a brand starts to use it for clout. While much of the online content we chuckle at and then relegate to the dustbin of internet history becomes cringe within the blink of an eye, there is always potential for it to have a renaissance. Trends are cyclical after all, and meme makers love a little irony which datedness can achieve with ease. Also, we will always know what we personally find funny, and no matter what anybody else says we can stick to our opinions on that. Perhaps that is the most important factor in feeling like the memes that we are looking at stay fresh.
