Boss Shows Up Unannounced to Employee’s House While He’s on Sick Leave Instead of Sending Email

In nearly any line of work, there’s always a million examples of things that could’ve been an email—pointless meetings usually taking the top spot. But u/BigJhed‘s supervisor really went above and beyond with this one. u/BigJhed got into a bad car accident in June, which put him out of work. Luckily, he was given three months of paid sick leave from his employer, but that didn’t stop his supervisor for showing up to his house unannounced to personally deliver a letter informing him that his sick leave was ending in October. That message definitely could have been conveyed in an email, and the fact that u/BigJhed‘s boss randomly showed up to his front door feels like some sort of intimidation tactic. People in the replies discussed whether or not such an inappropriate drop-in is even legal.
