Stranger Things is finally over, and it gives us the chance to reflect on everything that the show has given us over the years. Think about where you were when the show premiered, way back in 2016. Literally 10 years ago. Your life likely looked a lot different than it does now. Maybe you were still in school, and now you’re a full-fledged adult. Just like the Stranger Things kids themselves. Think about how much of a formative time that was for you, and for them. Perhaps you feel like you grew up beside them and have spent the last decade together, fighting Vecna and just trying to have a normal childhood in Hawkins, Indiana. It’s a special thing to have in the culture. It’s given us so many memes, so many songs back on the Billboard charts, and launched the careers of those who came from the show. Now it’s over, and we can all move on. 

Except that we’re going to look at memes about it. We will look at memes forever. You can’t get away from a good meme, nor would you want to. Memes are what keep fandoms afloat. If we didn’t have memes, would we even remember any of our favorite sci-fi franchises? Or would they fade away in memory, with nobody reminding us of them every time we open our internet browser? This is a question I hope we never answer. Because as long as Memebase is around, we will bring you sci-fi memes to look forward to every week.
