There is no shortage of stingy tippers out there, and on top of that, there are those who treat the extra as a punchline. This was the case with Jermaine, otherwise known as @xmaine24. He attracted attention after showing himself leaving a $1000 tip on a $30 bill that he knew would be declined.

While some viewers appreciated the joke, others were angry at the flippant gesture and the potential for his server to suffer the consequences. Although he later confirmed that he had also left a healthy cash tip, not everyone was convinced.

Although most people were focused on the practical problems, there’s also another issue at hand: there’s nothing worse in a public-facing role than having to endure the crappy jokes of the people that you serve.
