Watching your parents get older is a strange phenomenon. Once powerful guardians of the family, they grow feeble, weaker, and a little more fragile. Dads who used to walk 10 miles at Disneyland with one toddler on their shoulders and another dozing off in the stroller start to get creaky in the knees, wrinkled around their eyes, and grey around their crown. Alas, through the sands of time, there’s one day that we’ll inevitably be without our parents and will have to rely on their heirlooms and keepsakes to keep their memory alive. In their absence, we’ll always have that cuff link, pendant, or wedding dress to have and to hold. So if that memorabilia were ever threatened, we’d do just about anything to protect it, right?
