Target is famously one of the most difficult stores to get a job at. If you go on down to Hobby Lobby, Five Below, or Walmart and drop off your application, you’ve got a better chance than not of getting hired. Target is a different story. They won’t just hire any random ne’er-do-well to work at their highly exclusive establishment. Much like Barnes & Noble, Target was the place where all of the teens in my friend group wanted to work but could never get past the application stage. 

Just because you don’t have a job at Target doesn’t mean you can’t work there. That point was proven by TikToker @ugh_madison, who makes it her mission to work undercover in various retail stores free of charge. She documented her day of free work at Target on TikTok, and its subsequent virality has made a lot of people angry and befuddled at the way she’s spending her time and money.
