We love us a good ‘ole fashioned company feud! We just never imagined it would be between a high-end designer luxury fashion brand and an affordable, DIY home-goods and furniture store… Apparently Ikea and Balenciaga are frenemies. This was made clear when Ikea quickly roasted Balenciaga on Instagram. The expensive clothing brand recently released a «new design» of a skirt that literally just looks like a beige towel wrapped around your hips. It’s even called the «towel skirt» and they are charging $925 for it. Ikea saw this and said, «oh no, sweetie, what is you doin?» So this affordable furniture company decided to take a whack at fashion and posted their own «towel skirt»—priced for a much more affordable $17 (£16). The post showed a guy dressed basically identical to the Balenciaga model, even doing the same pose, but he’s in Ikea and the towel skirt is really just an Ikea towel.
