When The Cure said ‘I don’t care if Monday’s blue’, I don’t think he had to go to an office that Monday.
Mondays are objectively the worst day of the week. I don’t care how optimistic, happy, or unemployed you are; Mondays are just not it. You carry the burden of facing the week all over again. Same tasks as always, same unhappy coworkers, same minimum wage job. Mondays just have that tint of tragedy and ‘I swear I cannot do this anymore’ that washes away by Wednesday. It’s okay to get a little dramatic every once in a while, because when the alarm goes off at 6:00 AM, it really is that serious. There is another very concerning issue no one is addressing. Why is Monday so far from Friday, but Friday so close to Monday? I think we need to change this situation; whoever may be in charge of this nightmare of a week distribution, we are begging you to fix your mistake. No judgment will be made; you probably thought this was best. Now that we know it’s not, we’ll be waiting for your solution.
In the meantime, we do what we know how to do best; adapt. Mondays actually don’t have to be that blue; make a yummy coffee at home, change your alarm to your favorite song, wear a cute outfit to work, have a sleepover with your pets. I actually have one strict rule when it comes to Mondays: I must do at least one happy activity for myself throughout the day to keep me motivated. And it works! So find yours; I promise it will go by fast; before you realize, you will be having a martini with your girls on Friday. So make sure you
