Would you answer the door past midnight?

When do you live by yourself? It’s normal to be scared of things that happen at night. That’s why I enjoy living with an animal because then you’re never truly alone. You feel like you have a buddy on your side when things get a little spooky at night. And who isn’t a little afraid of the things that go on when you’re sleeping? There is so much unknown that happens in the night, and everything feels a little more heightened when you’re not asleep, and you know you should be. That’s what happened in the situation where a tenant of an apartment had a weird experience with someone who was trying to enter her space late at night. When you are a renter and not a homeowner, or if you just live in a big city, you’re always having to deal with other people in your space. Landlords have a tendency to want to enter as they please, and there’s always a maintenance guy fixing something or somebody that needs to be buzzed in. This creates a lot of opportunity for things to go wrong. And it’s hard not to have your defenses up when you’re trying to protect yourself in your own space. It’s not a good disposition to be suspicious of everything that comes your way, but sometimes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up even when you don’t mean them too.
