Rule number one of dealing with other people in pretty much any kind of communication is that we never know what somebody else is going through. This confrontation led her to drastic action in response. 

Redditors were fully in support of the move, pondering why some individuals feel so entitled to make such comments. There are a lot of miserable people out there.
