There comes a point in every parent’s life where they must ask themselves a very important question: am I a regular mom or a cool mom? The answer to said query determines a lot about their parenting style, but it most certainly answers the time-honored question, «Can my teenager drink in my house while supervised?» Some parents let their kids drink a glass of champagne on New Year’s and wine at Church, but that’s about it. Other parents outright forbid their kids from drinking before they turn 21. Others throw their kids huge parties full of alcohol because they’d rather have them do it at their home, where they can intervene if something happens. 

One family recently got into a rumble over this exact discussion. The mom allowed her 16-year-old daughter to have one glass of wine. The dad, whose family has a history of alcoholism, was having none of that.
