A parent’s duty is to ensure they enjoy life to the fullest within reason. A child’s birthday party is no exception; an enjoyable celebration of another trip around the sun is integral to a kid’s childhood and will impact them for years to come. After all, children don’t have that many memories to choose from at the ripe age of 11, so it’s best to make as many good ones to outshine the not-so-great ones. Embarrassingly, I still remember the dreadful party for my 11th birthday, which included a lot of mediation from adult figures, hoping that the other little girls would stop being so catty toward me. The 11-year-old child in this next story is having a spa-themed birthday party with her friends, but her 6-year-old cousin wants to join in on the fun. The 11-year-old’s parent refuses to invite the younger cousin when her mother requests that she do so, and it’s because the little girl has behavioral issues that might not mesh well with a birthday party setting. Fair enough, right?
Wrong. The parent’s refusal has sparked a family feud, including one between their mother and their niece’s mother. Anything for our little kids, though, don’t you think? Scroll to read the full story.
