If you pay rent to keep living at your parents’ home, does that give you a free pass from doing any of the house chores? Or do you still owe it to your parents to help around the house since they let you keep living there, even if it’s not free of charge?
The son in the story below doesn’t think he is entitled to not help his mom around the house because he pays rent, but he is tired of the way she micromanages him. He will get to his chores in time, and there’s no need for her to remind him about it first thing in the morning.
It got to the point where every time he is not at work, his mom complains about all the things he has to do around the house. Now, he considers not telling her when he has days off, simply so he can stop listening to her complaints.
