Thanksgiving is that time of year when we get to sit beside the ones we love, share a delicious over-the-top meal, and remember to say thank you for all that we have. Such a big holiday, naturally, invites lots of family dynamics, meal preferences, and we’re sure a few ‘as long as we’re seated at opposite ends of the table’ into the mix. It’s a time of sitting and showing gratitude, while simultaneously ensuring that the potatoes are roasted, mashed, hashed, baked, and even salad-ted…and then after all that, there’s always going to be that one family member who forgot to remind you about their new no-carb, no-potato diet…What a waste of the last 7 hours.
In this Thanksgiving dinner, that family member is the host’s sister-in-law…and instead of potatoes, fear seems to lie within the mushroom stuffing. After seeing the host making this year’s stuffing, she stops her in her tracks. Explaining that she is allergic to mushrooms and will not be able to eat the host’s stuffing…Little does she know she’s been eating the exact same stuffing for the last 5 years. So either she’s lying about her allergy and just trying to make her SIL’s life more difficult on Thanksgiving day…or she’s found herself a new allergy that just happened to be dormant for the last half of a decade…
