For many people, work is one of their most toxic relationships. They can barely stand it, but they know they can’t live without it. They have to do everything the job dictates even if they don’t want to, and usually they’re expected to do it with a smile on their face as well.

It’s true, while (some) work has real purpose in the world a lot of workers don’t find it that easy to live with. Even those who can wholeheartedly say that they love what they do experience downsides now and then. 

This is all the more reason for work memes to exist, reminding everybody that we’re not alone in our struggles with monotonous working life. Quitting and running away forever may be a mere pipe dream, but at least the escapism of internet humor can soften the blow of not being able to live out such wild fantasies.
