A couple of weeks ago, Harry Potter star Emma Watson was in the news after getting banned from driving for six months. I was extremely surprised by this, especially considering that she was the only one in the golden trio not to put the Weasley family car into a tree! Apparently she was only going 8 miles over the speed limit, but was given this harsh punishment because she had nine past driving infractions. This is one of those things that would never happen in the United States. It takes a whole lot more than driving over the speed limit a couple of time for an American to get their drivers license suspended. Luckily, Emma Watson probably won’t have any trouble arranging for someone to drive her everywhere, so maybe the lesson of this punishment will be moot.
