‘Where there’s a will, there’s a way’: Determined Guest Attempts to Break Into Room to Recover Lost Bag After Being Refused Entry by Hotel Employee

Being a customer service representative is not always an easy or enjoyable job. What is the hardest part, you ask? One instance that springs to mind is having to tell clients ‘no’, which usually leads them to feel upset and frustrated.

The story below is an account of a frustrated front desk clerk. As usual, OP was at the front desk when she received a call from someone claiming to have checked out earlier but to have forgotten his suitcase. At first, OP informs the man that the housekeeper hasn’t noticed any bags in the room and that since the room has already been assigned to a new guest, she is out of options and unable to take further action.

However, as you have probably already guessed, this reply did not satisfy the disgruntled guest, who continued looking for the missing bag for the second time. But this time, he showed up at the hotel, claiming to have parked the car in front of ‘his’ former room in order to reclaim what is rightfully his. But again, OP had to explain the situation to the furious visitor, and again, OP encountered a total lack of understanding and cooperation.
