Karen barista refuses to sell a bagel to an adult for breakfast, claims it’s a kids-only item: ‘So you’d rather I not order anything?’

As someone who lives in a bagel-centric part of the world, the idea that it’s anything other than a perfect breakfast option is astounding to me. It’s such a common order that it doesn’t even need explaining. Bagels are synonymous with mornings, breakfasts on the go, waiting in line at a bagel shop, and perfecting your go-to order. There was even a whole discourse last fall about the correct way to order a bagel (Spoiler alert, it has nothing to do with being «scooped»).

But some folks have different ideas about what’s right and wrong. And I suppose every business owner gets to make their own rules. For example, good luck ordering your fries «animal style» at McDonalds. You’d have to turn around and leave the drive-through. However, one restaurant’s rule sparked a lot of controversy online after one person shared their experience with it. Read on for the baffling story.
