I miss movies starring animals. Maybe it’s just because I’m 24 years old and no longer watch kids’ movies, but I feel like it’s been years since I’ve seen a new live-action film with a wacky animal leading the ensemble to rousing success. I recently watched Mouse Hunt, starring Nathan Lane, and had a real …

The Best Animal Memes of the Week (December 30, 2023)
Bidepdalism is so overrated. Long gone are the days when humans can crawl around on all fours all day and not have a sore back after about five minutes. I know that walking on two legs is more advantageous evolutionarily, but I don’t really care! I would love to walk in someone else’s feet for …

The Best Animal Memes of the Week (December 9, 2023)
I love real live animals, but I’d be lying if I said I don’t have some level of affection for crude recreations of gorillas, mice, and bears made through the art and science of animatronics. There are so many iconic animal animatronics that have both touched our lives and terrified us beyond belief. I’m talking …

The Best Animal Memes of the Week (November 25, 2023)
I recently saw a movie that was kind of about animals but kind of not. The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes is the newest installment in The Hunger Games series, and let me tell you, there were a lot of birds and snakes in this movie. Spoilers alert: I was obsessed with the scene of …

I’m going to be honest with you all…this is a very bug-heavy dump of animal memes, so if you’re afraid of the creepy crawlies, you can get out! Go over to dog or cat memes if you can’t handle the true freaks of the animal kingdom. I feel two ways about bugs because, on one …

Bunny Memes With Some Rabbit & Hare Memes Thrown in for Good Measure
Since the release of Peter Rabbit, there has not been a better narrative about the hubris of the bunny community. That is if you don’t count the iconic tail (cheeky, I know) of Little Bunny Foo Foo. «Little Bunny Foo Foo hopping through the forest, scooping up the field mice and boppin’ ‘em on the …

The Best Animal Memes of the Week (October 14, 2023)
If I had to bet on one type of meme lasting until the end of time, I’d put my money on animal memes. Of course, the trends in animal memes have changed over the past 15 years, but they have remained an essential fixture of the meme world even in 2023. Even if you have …

Sad Horse Gets Bullied By His Fellow Horses, Gets Rescued By a Farm With Nice Horses
I hate to see animals sad, and I’m not alone. There is an entire cinematic industry predicated on the idea that people will pay good money to watch a tragic animal become happy over 90 minutes. This trope is demonstrated in «boy and his dog movies» and «girl and her horse movies,» which have existed …

The Best Animal Memes of the Week (September 16, 2023)
I don’t know about you, but I loved the Tim Allen movie The Shaggy Dog when I was a kid. I thought the scene when he communicated that he was his kid’s father through Scrabble was an ingenious cinematic moment. However, I didn’t know that this 2006 film was actually a remake until I was …

The Best Animal Memes of the Week (September 9, 2023)
Sometimes I think about the giant yellow snake that lived in my middle school and how insane it was that nothing bad ever happened with her. There was an ‘Animal Science’ elective course offered in 7th and 8th grade, which was one of the most popular classes at the school. As far as I knew, …
